The Marlins speed was too much for the Padres, as ace Jake Peavy ends up surrendering 5 runs in 6 innings thanks to the top of the Florida lineup. Speedsters Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez combined to go 4-10 with three runs and two steals, plus an RBI double by Hanley that drove in Reyes to start off the game. The Padres did end a couple runs in the ninth off a 00 Bernie Williams triple, but were absolutely stiffled by Marlins' ace Josh Johnson for the first eight innings.
